    Martha Sesay is a second-year MPP candidate with an emphasis in Economic Policy. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and Government. Her experience includes roles as a Legal Assistant, Graduate Professional Assistant, and Business Analyst intern, as well as volunteering as an International Humanitarian Law Course Instructor with the American Red Cross.

    Iain Moore is a Master of Public Policy candidate at George Mason University, where he focuses on political research, data analysis, and public policy design. He earned his B.A. in Government with a Spanish cognate from Franklin & Marshall College. Iain has gained hands-on experience in federal and state politics where he supported policy research, communications, and field operations. A former collegiate athlete he is interested in pursuing a career in public service that advances thoughtful, data-driven policy solutions.

    Hannah Townley

    Hannah Townley is a data strategy consultant who specializes in data accessibility, community engagement, and Earth observations applications, bridging divides between scientific and policymaking communities. She is a Master's of Public Policy candidate concentrating in climate security policy, and a graduate fellow with the Center for Energy and Science Policy. As Economics Editor, she is looking to promote innovative and inclusive policy research that looks beyond just profits to see how economic theory can champion affordability, sustainability, and labor rights.

    Olenka Nisiama Yabar is a master’s student in Public Policy at the Schar School of Policy and Government, specializing in social and economic policy. Originally from Peru, she brings experience in research and strategic communications within the political landscape, particularly on issues related to gender, labor, law, and immigration. Olenka is fluent in Spanish and English and currently serves as the Editor for Social Topics at the Schar Policy Review.

    Juyeon Lee

    Juyeon Lee is a Master of Public Administration candidate at George Mason University. She holds a B. A. in International Studies in East Asian Culture and Politics and an interdisciplinary degree in American Studies. Her experience includes roles as a young professional intern at the Korea International Cooperation Agency, an international conference moderator, an international business operation intern, and an interpreter from Korean to English (vice versa). She is a very fast learner and is interested in getting a foot in international development to learn more about peacebuilding and sustainable development goals.

    Ziqian Feng

    After writing her Master's Thesis on international development strategies and the demographic dividend in sub-Saharan Africa, Ziqian spent three years in a Buddhist monastery in Northern California, followed by a short stint at UCSF, and finally arrived at Schar. Bringing experience and expertise across disciplines and continents, Ziqian is eager to discover innovative ideas and amplify student voices in the broader policy discussion.

    My name is Marcus Lewis. I am currently a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in Global Commerce and Policy with a focus in Investment, Finance and Trade. Beyond academics and professional endeavors, I am committed to continuous learning and staying informed about emerging trends in global trade, sustainability, and geopolitical dynamics. I became an editor at the Schar School Policy Review because I wanted an opportunity to help other students publish their research and hone my own research skills. I'm excited to serve as the Associate Editor of the Economic, Labor and Trade Policy Vertical. Additionally, I am excited to publish my own works in both the Policy Common and Policy Journal.

    Jack Potter is pursuing an MPA in the Schar School. He began taking graduate courses as an undergrad student in public administration through the Bachelor's Accelerated Master's (BAM) program. Currently on a leave of absence to serve as a session aide in the Virginia General Assembly, he looks forward to resuming his studies in the Summer. His policy interests include energy and environment, administrative law, and local government. He is an Associate Editor for the Energy, Environmental, and Urban Development Policy vertical.

    Tarang Mishra

    Master of Global Commerce and Policy ‘26

    Tarang Mishra is a master's student at George Mason University, pursuing a degree in Global Commerce and Public Policy. He graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and is currently working as the Culture and Finance Coordinator at Issue One, a non-profit that works to educate the public and pass legislation on Capitol Hill to bolster American democracy. After graduation, Tarang will  pursue a career in the trade industry as a legislative advocate for small business owners, particularly focusing on providing resources to under-served entrepreneurs across the country.
